Terms of Service
Last updated: 18/07/2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Waypoints's website and SMS service. By using Waypoints, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What Waypoints provides
Waypoints is a free directory and SMS-based support matching service for people in Melbourne seeking community services. We help you find relevant local services — such as mental health support, food relief, housing assistance, family violence services, legal aid, and more — based on the information you provide.
2. Not a substitute for emergency services
Waypoints is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000 (emergency) or Lifeline 13 11 14 immediately. Waypoints does not provide medical, legal, or counselling advice. We connect you with organisations that do.
3. Accuracy of information
We work hard to keep service listings accurate and up to date. Service details are verified directly with the organisations that run them. However, we cannot guarantee that every piece of information is always current. Services may change their hours, contact details, or availability without notice. We recommend confirming details directly with the service before visiting.
4. SMS service and costs
Our SMS service is free to use — Waypoints does not charge you for messages sent or received. Standard messaging rates from your mobile phone carrier may apply, depending on your plan. Waypoints is not responsible for any charges from your carrier.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Waypoints only for its intended purpose: finding support services for yourself or someone you are helping. You must not:
- Use the service to harass, spam, or abuse anyone.
- Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the website or SMS systems.
- Provide false or misleading information in a way that could harm others.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically download directory data without permission.
6. No warranty
Waypoints is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or that every service recommendation will be suitable for your specific situation.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waypoints and its partners are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to decisions you make based on service recommendations.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of Waypoints after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
